About Us

Hi!
I'm Lee Anne and I'm really a very new Raggedy enthusiast.
I have only been collecting
for a couple years.
My mom tells me I had a Raggedy Ann as a small child but I can't really remember it.
I bought my
daughter, Rachel Anne, a Hasbro Baby Raggedy when she was 3 months old. She just wouldn't stop
smiling at it in the store. It became her constant companion and captured my
heart as well.
Sadly, when Rachel was 2, her doll was stolen. I remember crying that night
for my daughter, knowing how much the doll meant to her. I put a "Wanted"
poster in the window of the place she was stolen from - hoping someone would
bring her back - but no luck. My mother and I replaced it with one we
"wore out" so it would look like the original. A few months later she lost the new doll and we
replaced it again - telling her each time someone had found her and
brought her back. My mother has become very accomplished at making
a new doll look old! I guess one day we'll have to tell Rachel that the doll was replaced but I don't know how.

Can you find Rachel?
My husband and I used to call the Raggedy "Dolly" or "D" for
short when we didn't want Rachel to know what we were talking about. Well, Rachel was too smart for us and she started calling her "D-Doll".
"D-Doll" is pretty much always with Rachel, who just turned four. She now has our
phone # sewn in her back though! D-Doll even goes to pre-school.
I may have to start paying tuition for her! All the kids and
teachers know her. D-Doll just went to Disney World too - she rode
all the rides - my mom was so afraid she wouldn't make it back!
I started collecting for my daughter's big-girl room since we were expecting a new baby.
I went just a bit overboard - couldn't help myself. We made it into a Raggedy room of course.
When people see it They comment on how cute it is. I have to tell
them that without the Raggedy's the room is completely white!
I didn't have to do any decorating at all - just added Raggedys.
On September 18, 1997, my son was born. We didn't have a name for him until the last minute walking into the hospital - Andrew of course. So now we have Raggedy Rachel Anne & Raggedy Andy.
My husband, Todd, has a stationary store with a gift shop in it. He
started selling some Raggedy items and we decided to try
selling them on the web. I would just love it when I'd find a new Raggedy item -
I thought I might as well share this with everyone who loves Raggedys.
We hope you enjoy it here at Raggedy Place!
Update: Well, we've been at this for over two years now and the
response have been wonderful!
Thanks so much to all our great customers and all the compliments.
Raggedy Rachel is in first grade and I babysit D-Doll. My Raggedy
Andrew is more like Raggedy Dennis-the-Menace as he is now 3.
Take care!
